County Planning Commission

(4YR. TERMS) ending 12/31 of each year. A nine (9) member board (with at least 2 county commissioners) that meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday at 5:15 PM in the Tom Baker Meeting Room, City/County Building. The general purpose of the county planning commission is the promoting of health, safety, morals, public convenience, general prosperity, and public welfare. To protect and guide the development of nonurban areas. To secure safety from fire, flood, and other damages. To regulate and restrict the erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, or use of buildings and structures, the height, number of stories, and size of buildings and structures, the percentage of lots that may be occupied, the size of courts, yards, and other open spaces, density of population, and the location and use of buildings, structures, and land for trade, industry, residence, or other purpose.
