43rd Avenue Corridor Project
Start Date: March, 2012
End Date: March, 2013

Description: The 43rd Avenue Corridor has been developing at a very rapid rate over the past five years. Recognizing the need to proactively plan for the continued growth along the corridor, the Bismarck - Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) submitted a funding application to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to obtain funding to conduct a study to identify a range of multimodal transportation improvements for application within the corridor. At the conclusion of this study, which is a joint effort with Burleigh County and the City of Bismarck, there will be a plan in place that will used to guide development within the corridor, particularly with respect to access locations, traffic control, roadway geometry, multimodal accommodations (bicycle/pedestrian and transit), and projected traffic volumes.
