Burleigh County Urges Extreme Caution Around Trees
NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 4, 2011
Burleigh County Officials have received numerous calls regarding trees down on homes, driveways, yards, etc. Burleigh County is urging extreme caution in saturated/flooded areas and especially during weather events. Citizens may not want to utilize the top floor of their homes due to the potential for surrounding trees to fall on their home.
"A lot of trees have been inundated for a long period and could fall at any time. Quite a few trees are already leaning," says Jim Peluso, Burleigh County Commissioner.
Officials also advise people to stay out of the flood-impacted areas if you are not assisting with cleanup and do not live in the area.
